About Me

As soon as my daughter NJ was walking, we would go on daily adventures to the mailbox at the end of our street. It was the perfect walking distance for her little legs.  She loved the bright, colourful mail (usually flyers and advertising) and would carry those home and often play with them afterward.

As NJ got bigger, she went to daycare, I went back to work full time, and I didn't have nearly as much time to spend with her on a daily basis.

Our walks to the mailbox, even though they were short, provided some special moments together to talk about her day.

NJ would often ask if we could go to the mailbox together and I decided that I wanted bright, fun mail for her to open so that she could experience the joy of receiving her very own mail.

I searched online, and found some lovely subscriptions for kids, but they were for slightly older children and I was looking for colourful letters from a boy or girl character, something targeted toward preschoolers and early readers . Nothing I found was quite right, so I decided to create my own product - Petit Mail, a double-sided colour story card, mailed in a bright colourful envelope each month and featuring the adventures of 2 characters, Oliver and Olivia.
Story cards are illustrated by the fabulous Heather Stillufsen who brings to life the characters that I have created.  I believe in supporting small business wherever possible.  Petit Mail story cards are printed at a small, locally owned print shop every month.

More About Me

I make my home in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada ("the edge of the world") where I live with my husband and two beautiful children.

I work full-time for a local non-profit for the past 10 + years, work that I find very rewarding, but I am also a creative at heart.  I absolutely love the business of Petit Mail and interacting with fellow parents. I'm on a personal journey to simplify my home life with kids, something that you will find reflected here on the blog, and in the parent resources I provide to subscribers.

I'm always looking for a few quiet moments to myself, and then you can usually find me thinking + dreaming big dreams over a cup of tea with honey.

I always love to hear from you, please connect at any time with questions, ideas, or collaboration suggestions.
